Kent has been a golf professional for 30 years, 24 of those being here at Alpine. After marrying his high school sweetheart, Susan in 1978, they moved to Utah where he earned a full-ride golf scholarship to Utah State University. He played there from 1981 through 1985.

fr Kent had a brief amateur career in Utah from 1979 through 1986, winning low amateur in the Utah Open in 1984. In1984, he scored a runner-up finish in the State Amateur and was a semi-finalist in 1985, along with other smaller events in the state. He has won a number of Pro-Am events in his early Professional years and played a few events on, what was then, the Hogan Tour before back sustaining injuries. Leg and feet injuries have now sidelined him from being able to play the game he loves competitively.

Kent's greatest accomplishment would have to be his 40 years of marriage to his high school sweetheart, Susan and raising their four children, who have blessed them with 10 grandchildren.

Kent has 30 years of teaching experience in the golf industry and has been extremely blessed to be the Head PGA Professional of Alpine Country Club.
